Systematic Market Internals

NASDAQ 100 (QQQ)

  • Price Action: QQQ closed at 749.58, up 1.02% on Friday’s session and 0.68% on the week. The index gaining ground and the index being healthy are two different things right now.

  • Absolute Breadth: The daily planes are in open conflict. EW remains in Bear Liquidation at 26.7%, only about one in four QQQ names in a confirmed uptrend. MCW holds Bull Consolidation at 41.8%, a full 15 percentage points higher. The Generals are still standing. The Soldiers are still falling.

  • Distortion Context: This is an active Mega-Cap Illusion, and the mechanics are telling. MCW dropped 4.3 points in the last session, from 46.1% to 41.8%, while EW barely moved, down just 0.4. Price still gained over 1% anyway. The spread narrowed from 19.0% to 15.1%, but not because anything healed. MCW simply fell toward EW while a handful of the heaviest names kept the index afloat.

  • Weekly Context: The daily and weekly planes are pulling in opposite directions. Daily EW sits in Bear Liquidation at 26.7% while weekly EW holds Bull Consolidation at 28.5%. The weekly MCW actually ticked up to 47.5%. The weekly Mega-Cap Illusion spread has now widened to 19.0%. Historically, this indicates a continuation of the directionless volatility, until both planes align in one direction or the other.

S&P 500 (SPY)

  • Price Action: SPY closed at 769.64, up 0.74% on the last session but down 0.22% on the week. The daily gain is masking a breadth picture more severe than anything QQQ is showing.

  • Absolute Breadth: Both planes sit in Bear Liquidation, EW at 10.1% and MCW at 36.0%. Across 500 stocks, only one in ten names holds a confirmed uptrend, deep inside the Washout Zone. The MCW reading is the only thing keeping the index off the floor. The mega-caps are absorbing what the average stock can't.

  • Distortion Context: The spread hit 25.9% today, crossing into Extreme Fragility, up from 24.5% yesterday. Unlike QQQ, where the concentration sits in a small roster of names, this is a broad-economy statement. Across 500 names spanning nearly every sector, the gap between what the price shows and what the average stock is living through just hit its most severe classification yet.

  • Weekly Context: The weekly EW plane is in Bear Liquidation and getting worse, down from 28.1% last week to 24.4% now, while weekly MCW holds Bull Consolidation at 19.4%. That's a 5.0 point spread classified as Selective Strength, with the average stock technically ahead of the mega-caps on the weekly frame even as both planes decline. There's no shelter in the weekly structure here. Both readings are heading the same direction, and the index price is being carried by a shrinking group of names.

Inside The Elite Matrix

❝

A genuinely busy week for the systematic ensembles. Several QQQ strategies toggled in and out of positions daily, and two SPY ensembles entered mid-week before unwinding by Friday's close. Elite members receive each directive after the close, timestamped ahead of next session's open.
